The agreement with Wuhan Fachman Industries Ltd (WFI), signed on 1 December, will see the joint venture company - Aerial Fachman Ltd - produce machines initially for China but also for other Asia Pacific markets in the longer term. WFI is already a dealer for German access manufacturer Teupen, mainly for the specialist Leo range.

'Our strategic agreement with Wuhan Fachman means we will be in an excellent position to supply high-quality platforms at a competitive price”, said Darren Kell, Tanfield Group business development director. 'Shipping costs have made it prohibitive for us to compete in Asia Pacific from the UK.”

Mr Kell said; 'The market for powered access equipment in China is expected to grow at a phenomenal rate, as it is starting from practically zero.” No date for a start to production had been set. (See www.khl.com for more.)
