Ultra Cleaning Service recently hired a boom and scissor lift from AFI Manchester for use in cleaning the cladding at the Reebok Stadium, UK, the home of Bolton Wanderers FC (football club).

A JLG 860SJ boom lift was used inside the stadium and a Skyjack SJ8841 scissor lift for cleaning work outside.

Julian Chadwick, managing director of Ultra Cleaning Service, said: “Inside the ground we needed a powered access machine that would fit through the narrow entrance and give us enough outreach so that we could clean the cladding at the corners of the stands whilst keeping the machine off the pitch. The outreach of the stick boom was ideal and it allowed us to easily clean the cladding with water-fed brushes.

“Our work outside the stadium involved jet washing the cladding. The scissor lift, with its extendable deck, enabled us to work from the top to the bottom, cleaning two panels of cladding at a time, without having to move the machine along, saving us a great deal of time,” he added.

The JLG 860SJ has a working height of 28.21 m and an outreach of 22.86 m. The Skyjack SJ8841’s working height is 14.5 m and its deck extends to 5.7 m.
