Aggreko makes major fleet investment

Aggreko will spend £150 million (€170 million) on its European fleet in 2023 as part of its Greener Upgrades initiative.

The majority of the investment will be for Stage V generators, new boilers, battery storage systems and chillers.

The company says the investment will allow it to expand its fleet and is part of its One Europe Strategy which it launched last year.

Aine Finlayson, director of product management and manufacturing, said, “Greener Upgrades has been a real step-change for our customers and business in the UK, but there is still so much more to achieve together.

“The nature of our inbound enquiries has seen a fundamental shift lately, with more people wanting to now minimise risk, save on running costs and meet sustainability goals all at the same time.

“Our business model is structured to confidently respond to these challenges, but most importantly while keeping things simple for energy decision makers in a time of extreme complexity.”

In recent years, Glasgow-headquartered Aggreko has accelerated its offering of green temporary power solutions as part of its own energy transition strategy. The company also opened a green rental depot in Dumbarton, Scotland, last year as part of the Greener Upgrades initiative.
