Safi mast climbers have been working on the Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi since August 2004, assisting in marble sheathing and finishing work on the mosque's minarets. Four single mast SCAF 2000 units were supplied by local Safi dealer NFT-Nouman Trading to joint venture contractors Sixco and ACC. A special closed ring configuration was supplied to allow the four machines to sit around the circumference of the minaret. Platform extensions of up to 4 m (13 ft) and special tie-in extensions were required to allow work on the minaret since the structure's shape was such that the masts were 1-4.5 m (3.3-15 ft) away from the minaret walls.
