Snorkel launched a fixed-axle version of its TB85J telescopic boom at the Rental Show. The 4WD/4WS boom uses the same boom as the extendible axle version, but has a redesigned chassis and additional counterweight taking total weight up to 38000 lb (17.2 t). Maximum outreach is unchanged at 76 ft 7 in (23.4 m) and total machine width is 8 ft 6 in (2.6 m). Al Havlin, the company's managing director, told AI that Snorkel's sales had increased by 68% during 2005 and he expected a further 30% to 40% rise this year. Snorkel plans to open its own depot in Europe during 2006, likely to be in The Netherlands.
