Trojan Battery in the US has introduced its Deep-Cycle Gel batteries with gel electrolyte, making them completely maintenance free (no watering), says the company. The proprietary formulation prevents stratification and allows longer and deeper cycle battery cycles than do absorbed glass matt electrolyte. The gel batteries are spill-proof (certified to UN2800), increasing their attractiveness for environmentally-sensitive access applications. The California company also has new wet cell batteries – the Plus Series – in 6 and 12 V. They feature a flip-top vent cap system, a built-in maximum level electrolyte indicator, embedded terminals, and high-performance paste.
