Ainscough Crane Hire has purchased a 750 tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 for its Heavy Cranes Division following a UK£ 11.4 million (US$ 17 million) investment into its crane fleet.

In January this year, the company also purchased a 500 tonne crane. An additional Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 and a second 500 tonner will be added before the end of 2013. The cranes will be used within the energy sector, working on projects at oil refineries and wind farms.

Gareth Jones, commercial director at Ainscough Crane Hire, said, “This investment acknowledges the need to adapt and expand our fleet to meet the changing needs of the marketplace. Ainscough is already the largest heavy crane operator in the country, and the expansion of our fleet means that we can give clients the highest level of service and work on more of the UK’s largest projects. We are very pleased with our new Liebherr and will be deploying it to its first job early next week.”

Richard Everist, Liebherr Great Britain managing director, said, “Ainscough has been a fantastic customer of ours for several years. We are delighted that they have chosen to equip their fleet with another of our top of the range machines. We are sure that it will be an asset to the firm and to their customers in turn.”
