Italian manufacturer Tigieffe, producer of the Airo brand of lifts, has appointed a distributor in the UK. It is the first time Airo products have been avaiable in those countries.

Airo UK is a partnership between Aerial & Handling Services (AHS) and Joint Venture Sales Consultants (JV Ltd). JV will manage sales and marketing of Airo's 50 products, while AHS will deliver product training and all after-sales support.

Andy Laking of Airo UK said, “These are high quality, high value machines that can bring real benefits to certain niche applications in the industrial sector. For example, galvanised baskets significantly reduce wear and tear, which is passed on as a cost to the end user and requires substantial down time for rental companies while repairs or refurbishments are carried out.”

Airo is the only brand in the UK to offer galvanised platforms free of charge, said the manufacturer. So far, Airo UK has invested in a demo fleet and an initial inventory of replacement parts. The fleet includes the AIRO X14EW electric slab scissor, with a 1.5 m deck extension and a 400 kg safe working load with the deck extended.

The 14 m scissor is joined by the A12JE electric articulating boom, providing a 12.1 m maximum working height and 7.5 m outreach. It has full speed multi-functional proportional controls for rapid elevation and descent, 370˚ turret rotation and 180˚ platform rotation.
