Mateco at Frankfurt Airport

Mateco used a range of platforms to help renovate part of Frankfurt Airport in Germany.

The Square is a 660 m long and up to 65 m wide complex containing offices, hotels and retail outlets linked to the airport’s Terminal 1 - it even boasts its own postal/zip code.

The work included updating roof section joints and replacing some 64 snow protection plates on the façade, each 3 m long.

In total, 16 lanes of road traffic runs underneath the building, so work had to be carried out mainly at night. If required, the highway was closed while the work was underway. Mateco used up to weight truck mounted and self propelled lifts for the job.
