Alimak restructures around Tractel buyout

Sweden-based Alimak Group has announced a new structure and leadership team following its acquisition of working at height product and safety systems specialist Tractel earlier this year.

The combination of Alimak Group and Tractel brings an annual revenue of over SEK 6 billion, said the company, with its new strcuture having five divisions: Construction, Industrial, Facade Access, Wind and Height Safety and Productivity Solutions, whch adds a new division following the company’s previous restructure in 2021.

Sylvain Grange, former CFO of Tractel, has been appointed as CFO of Alimak Group and Philippe Gastineau, former CEO of Tractel, has been appointed to the role of senior EVP for Facade Access and for Height Safety & Productivity Solutions. Thomas Hendel, Alimak Group’s CFO, has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities outside the company.

Our main focus will be to ensure business continuity through strong focus on our customers and our people and to capture the commercial synergies”, says Ole Kristian Jødahl, CEO, Alimak Group.

Orderly transition 

To ensure an orderly transition, Hendel will remain with the company in a supporting role during his notice period. “It has been very rewarding to be part of the group leadership team and to manage the talented finance team during this period of great change,” said Hendel.

Jødahl added, “I would like to thank Thomas for his contributions to the group both as CFO and as a member of the group leadership team and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Concerning the appointment of Grange as the CFO of Alimak Group, Jødahl said he brought ‘deep financial expertise and business acumen’ to the group. “Sylvain brings an impressive track record. I look very much forward to be working with Sylvain in the years to come to bring Alimak Group to new heights.”

Grange said, “Alimak Group and Tractel are a very good fit, and their businesses offer many complementarities, notably in terms of product portfolio, geographies and know-how. The integration work implies a number of challenges, but I am confident our respective committed teams will address those and deliver the expected value creation.”

Further, Alimak Group has appointed Philippe Gastineau as Senior EVP for Facade Access and for Height Safety & Productivity Solutions, entering his new role as of today. Philippe has been the CEO of Tractel since 2017 and has prior to that held several different executive management positions in Nexans and Vinci Energies. “I am looking forward to joining the Alimak Group Leadership Team and to aim for further growth through the combined strengths of the two companies,” said Gastineau.
