A new crane that can be used for a range of heavy-duty tasks on construction sites and in the extractive industry has been launched by Sennebogen.

The 655 HD duty cycle crawler crane can be adapted to work in a range of situations said the German manufacturer. It has 16 tonne winches and a rugged double pin boom head as standard for multiple reeving and heavy load handling. Other additions include a free fall brake and a Sennebogen control system.

The 655 HD with single-axle boom head is suitable for dynamic dragline work in the extractive industry and can be turned into a crawler crane. When using a jib a height of 56 metres is attainable.

Regarding environmental legislation, the 655 HD has temperature-controlled fan drives, an automatic start-stop system and the latest exhaust gas after treatment, the manufacturer said.

The crane is powered by a 261 kW Caterpillar diesel engine and multi-circuit hydraulic system. At 3.30 m wide, the 655 HD can be carried on a conventional flatbed truck. With the help of the hydraulically adjustable A-frame, the 655 HD can also independently ballast itself.
