Arden's new CU-031-R61 universal processor replaces the CU2700

Arden Equipment exhibited two prototype attachments at last year’s Intermat but did not release information for publication at that time. The company now says that production versions of both, fully tested and CE certified, will be on show at bauma in April. The first is the CU-031-R61 universal processor that is to replace the CU2700. Arden says that the new processor uses the same patented mechanical quick change system and also weighs the same as the outgoing model at 2,840 kg (6,248 lb). However, the CU031 provides 22% greater cutting power, the jaw depth is 19% greater (800 mm against 670 mm) and the jaw opening is now 950 mm against 809 mm. The new attachment also makes use of a new generation of wear parts that are fabricated from HB500/550 steel, a grade that according to Arden has never before been used on this kind of tool.

It will be joined on the stand by a new scrap shear, the AS030R, which is intended to replace the AS-027R. Again, the new tool shares the same specifications of the model it replaces, weighing in at 2,570 kg (5,654 lb), but Arden says that it features reduced scrap jamming when cutting thin sheets or cables, reduced cycle time, improved steel section cutting, improved mobile jaw guiding, improved durability at the front part of the jaw and easier maintenance and jaw replacement.

Arden also says it is currently field testing a new pulveriser and this is also expected to be on show on its stand, but was not willing to share any further information on the tool at this moment in time.
