UK powered access distributor APS said it was launching a new 14m boom lift on a 3.5 tonne van - the VZ140.

Mounted on a front-wheel-drive Ford Transit panel van, the new VZ140 can provide up to 400kg of spare carrying capacity, even after accounting for fuel and two occupants, according to the company. It boasts a working height of 14m and maximum outreach of more than 9m.

It follows the launch of 12m and 13m booms on 3.5 tonne vans earlier this year.

Steve Couling, managing director of IAPS Group, which owns APS, said, “We are really excited about this new product and we received some great feedback at Vertikal Days. Visitors were blown away by the VZ140’s capabilities; it far surpasses anything currently available.

“We are very quickly building a reputation for high quality van-mounted booms with industry-leading performance. Customers are always asking for more payload and more reach from 3.5t van mounts. In the VZ140 we have a product that provides both.”
