ARA scales down 2010 Rental Show in Orlando

23 July 2009

The American Rental Association (ARA) is scaling down its 2010 Rental Show in Orlando, Florida, although the three-day exhibition will remain.

The event will start on Sunday rather than the traditional Saturday, and the exhibition opens on the Monday morning at 11.30am and runs through to Wednesday, rather than the Tuesday start of recent years.

"ARA listened to general members and exhibitors and has responded by providing a high-quality event to utilize their time more efficiently," said Christine Wehrman, ARA's executive vice president and chief executive officer.

"ARA has shortened the days away from their businesses, while continuing to provide the valued benefits of The Rental Show. With Orlando as our most popular location, we anticipate many of you will join us to experience this new format."

The Events & Tents conference and also the Construction University seminars will take place on the Sunday, with further seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. ARA also plans a special exhibition ‘social hour' from 5.00pm to 6.00pm on the Monday, and an evening event for all visitors and exhibitors on the Tuesday evening.

ARA said the change in format - made in response to the difficult economic climate - was suggested by the show's ‘Task Force' during a meeting in April at ARA's Moline, Illinois headquarters.
