Aggreko has won US$30 million rental contracts for the 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

The two events are being staged in Guangzhou, China, with the Asian Games taking place on 12-27 November and the Para Games on 12-19 December.

Aggreko said it will provide around 65 MW of power for the competitions' 16 stadia and the International Broadcast Centre. It will also support the opening and closing ceremonies.

Rupert Soames, Aggreko's chief executive officer, said: "The Asian Games, along with the Olympic Games and Football World Cup, are the world's largest sporting events and I am delighted to say that Aggreko has scored a 'hat-trick' by being selected to supply power to all of them."
