AWPT adds value to platform conference

IPAF’s North American subsidiary AWPT co–sponsored the Aerial Platform Safety Conference & Expo in October 2006. AWPT operator and instructor training for scissor lifts and self–propelled booms was provided by Skyjack at the event site in Houston, Texas.

AWPT vice–president Dennis Eckstine moderated the session on technical innovations to improve aerial equipment safety. IPAF international training manager Rupert Douglas–Jones looked at the correct selection and proper use of fall protection equipment on aerial platforms. The use of harnesses was also discussed at the AWPT Advisory Council Meeting, which agreed to draft an AWPT–SIA joint harness statement.
