Back to Basic - BA2424 breaker ups quarry output

17 December 2012

A Sandvik BA2424 Basic Line breaker is helping Amrut Quarry in Gujarat State, India, increase its output of basalt. When the company, owned by Sri Kamal Bhai, decided to increase production levels at the site, it went to local Sandvik dealer, Mass Enterprises. Although his company had never before used Sandvik equipment, he was initially attracted by Sandvik’s reputation for equipment reliability and durability.

What was not required was exceptional levels of technology but a tough, durable breaker that could process boulders reliably for up to eight hours per day. The BA2424 proved to be the ideal solution to the company’s needs.

Simple in design, Basic Line breakers utilise fewer working parts for reduced maintenance and lower owning and operating costs. Although simple, the Basic range still benefits from proven Sandvik technology and the use of genuine Sandvik parts to ensure optimum precision, superior levels of durability and a long working life.

Mounted on an Hitachi EX200 hydraulic excavator, the 1,670 kg (3,674 lb) Sandvik BA2424 is charged with reducing boulders of up to a metre in size down to the >600 mm feed size demanded by the site’s crusher. Equipped with a blunt tool for optimum breaking force in this demanding application, the BA2424 in consistently achieving output levels in excess of 500 tonnes/day.

Mass is also supplying full aftersales service, carrying out regular inspections and maintenance and the supply of Sandvik spare parts. “The training, service support and spare parts supply we have received from Mass Enterprises has been excellent,” said Amrut Quarry partner Kamal Patel. “We look forward to receiving the same high levels of support in the future.”
