Beijing Jingcheng enters atrium lift market

Beijing Jingcheng has entered the atrium lift market with two 23 m platform height models, one mounted on crawlers and the other on wheels.
The Chinese manufacturer launched the wheeled GTBY23B and tracked GTBY23A models at the BICES exhibition. The new machines add to Jingcheng's existing range of large telescopic booms, scissors and personnel lifts.
The crawler model has a maximum working height of 24.7 m, an outreach of 12 m, and stowed dimensions of 6.8 m (L) by 1.98 m (H). The wheeled unit has the same specification but is 7 cm higher when stowed. The crawler weighs 4800 kg and the tracked version is 200 kg heavier. Both are mains electric powered and equiped with a 3 kW engine.
A spokesperson for Jingcheng told Access International that a 25 m platform height model would also be available soon.
Both machines have been designed mainly for the Chinese and South American markets. The company made a move into Europe a few years ago but has more recently been focusing on its domestic Chinese and Asian market and developing countries like Brazil.
The company owns a small truck crane rental business in Beijing called Beijing Xingzhong Rental Co, which has a fleet of around 20 cranes, mainly cranes manufactured by Beijing Jingcheng. Jingcheng told AI that the rental company was planning to start renting aerial platforms before the end of this year, adding around 5 to 10 of Jingcheng's booms and scissors to its fleet.
In addition to the new atrium lifts, the manufacturer has added two cranes to its line-up, with a 100 t truck mounted unit and a 160 t all terrain crane, both mounted on carriers built by Beijing Jingcheng.
The 100 t truck mount is a new larger size for the manufacturer - its previous largest truck crane was a 75 t model - and the 160 t all terrain represents a big jump up in size from the previous largest, a 55 t unit.
