This year's Bauma China event is the most successful to date, according to the show's organisers, with over 113000 visitors - a +40% rise on the 80000 people who visited the last show in 2006.

Of the 113000-plus visitors to the show 17000 came from 123 countries outside China, with the five largest being India, Russia, Japan, Korea and Brazil.

The show, which was held in Shanghai, China (25 to 28 November), also attracted a record number of exhibitors - 1608, from over 30 different countries - who showed their products on the +40% bigger, 210000 m2 showground.

Of the 1608 exhibitors, 702 came from outside China, with the Germany (144), Italy (102), the US (80), Korea (55) and Japan 42) being the largest.
