Pedro López Jiménez (71) has been elected chairman of the supervisory board of Hochtief, taking over from Thomas Eichelmann (49) who has left the board.

Eichelmann said he wanted to enable a representative from the major shareholder – ACS – to take the position. Eichelmann had been a member of the supervisory board since May 2011 and took over as chairman in January 2013.

The supervisory board also proposed that Christine Wolff (53) be appointed as a new member, having been on the board in 2012 and 2013.

López Jiménez was appointed to the Hochtief supervisory board in May 2011. Among other tasks, he was a member of the executive committee and of the strategy and human resources committee. In addition, López Jiménez is non-executive director on the board of Leighton Holdings and ACS.

López Jiménez said, “During Thomas Eichelmann’s chairmanship, the company needed to focus and restructure its activities to become one of the leading players in the industry.

“Now we can say that after this transition period, the company is implementing its business plan in Europe, America and Asia-Pacific.”
