Bobcat's E80 excavator features electronic injection with Auto Idle ensuring optimum fuel efficiency

Bobcat's E80 excavator features electronic injection with Auto Idle ensuring optimum fuel efficiency at all times, the company said.

Bobcat's new 8 tonne E80 tracked excavator is designed for easy, precise control, according to the company.

The new machine has a 4 m maximum digging depth, a 4,7 m maximum dump height and a maximum reach of 6,9 m.

A spokesman for Bobcat said the E80's controls have been designed to ensure convenience and comfort for the operator and to maximise operating efficiency.

He added, "The hydraulic joystick levers have comfortable grips that allow the operator to perform smooth, precise operations. A boom safety valve and overload warning device are standard equipment."

Other features which contribute to improved operator comfort include the 74 dBA noise level in the cab and a high capacity heating and air conditioning system, with fully adjustable vents, installed at both the front and rear of the operator's seat. Another standard feature is an electric refuelling pump.

Space in the E80's cab is similar to that found on bigger machines and there is a large entrance and exit, providing good access into and out of the machine. Meanwhile, the openness of the cab provides a wide field of view and "excellent" all around visibility.

The machine's cab also has a sun visor and a side mirror as well as an instrument panel which provides machine status information in an easy-to-read format.

The 40,4 kW machine features electronic injection with Auto Idle ensuring optimum fuel efficiency at all times, Bobcat stated.

"High engine power and high swing torque ensure that the E80 can work efficiently on slopes. In addition, the zero tail swing design and the boom swing function allow the E80 to work well in tight areas," the spokesman added.

Convenient check points make it easy to carry out routine maintenance, while a tilting cab simplifies service work.
