Boels Rental has taken the total of companies purchased this year to five following the dual acquisition of Toolmatic in Scandinavia and Belgian company Racor.

The company had already acquired Dutch business Port-o-Let and Yellow Rental, together with Drott of Austria, in the first half of the year.

Denmark-based Toolmatic, which specialises in the shop-in-shop rental concept at home improvement centres, has more than 250 rental locations in its home country, Norway and Sweden.

Racor’s main business is renting climate control and energy equipment to customers in the Benelux countries and France.

Boels CEO Pierre Boels said: “The acquisition of Racor fits our strategy of migrating from being a generalist to a specialist and Toolmatic is our first step into the Scandinavian market."
