Boels enters surveying market with POL acquisition

Boels Verhuur BV in the Netherlands has acquired POL Geotechniek BV, a surveying equipment sales company based in Andelst, The Netherlands. POL is dealer for Leica Geosystems and sells other surveying and GPS equipment brands such Mikrolaser, 3D-win and Motorola.

Pierre Boels, Boels managing director, said; "The acquisition of POL, the leading dealer for Leica Geosystems, means that we will be able to improve our product offering in the specialist field of surveying equipment.

"In addition, the combination of POL's more than 30 years experience in the sector and Boel's customer base offers excellent sales opportunities. The acquisition is perfectly in line with our strategy of becoming a specialist service provider", said Mr Boels.

René Worms, managing director of Leica Geosystems BV, said; "We are very happy that Boels Verhuur is the new owner of POL Geotechniek. "Boels has an enormous number of contacts in the construction business. Moreover, the combination of Boels and POL gives Leica Geosystems the opportunity to continue its cooperation with POL and extend that cooperation."

Boels Verhuur employs 1500 people and has 190 depots in six European countries.
