Bomag has the measure of compaction weaknesses

20 April 2015

Bomag has followed its successful launch of the Economizer measuring system for light tandem rollers by offering it on the BMP 8500 multi-purpose compactor.

The company said this is the first time anywhere in the world that this machine type has been equipped with its own measuring system.

The Economizer helps users to locate weaknesses in compaction at an early stage and take timely action. The light diodes on the display increase until full compaction has been reached and work is finished.

Timo Stenz, Bomag marketing manager for light equipment, said: "The Economizer will save time and money. It will reduce costs by around 25%, which is really good for contractors and will save thousands of euros for companies in the rental industry, who will get more money from renting it out than they spend on servicing and maintenance."

Also new from Bomag and on display at Intermat is its first tamper with gas operation. The BT 60 G/BT 65 G is equipped with a petrol engine but operated with conventional gas, with typical applications including internal areas and trenches.

Here the tamper achieves eco-friendly CO values of nearly 0% and fulfils the highest requirements concerning emmision-values. The BT 60 G and BT 65 G will be available worldwide from July 2015.
