Bredenoord wins Frost & Sullivan product award

Frost & Sullivan, the international market research and consultancy firm, said the award was presented to Bredenoord because it successfully anticipates new sustainability requirements for mobile power sources.

The jury cited Bredenoord's joint-development of the Purity fuel cell genset that uses hydrogen as its fuel; the larger Uniflex genset that operates on hydrogen and bio-ethanol; and a new self-cleaning soot filter for diesel generators that reduces soot emissions by a claimed 99.9%.

The Frost & Sullivan jury said; "Bredenoord has deftly negotiated the ever changing landscape of gensets owing to its out-of-the-box thinking, especially when it comes to its product offerings...it has successfully positioned its impressive range of alternative fuel gensets, particle filters and fuel cell based gensets to meet the current and emerging needs of the customer."

Bredenoord is a family owned rental business with a fleet or more than 2000 gensets. It operates mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium, but is also active in Germany. In September it established a base in Denmark when it took over the rental activities of former rental company GT Energy.

The company's most recent development is a patented ‘Clear Air' self-cleaning soot filter, which collects soot particles and burns them. Bredenoord says notified body TÜV Rheinland has tested the filter and concluded that the soot emission is reduced by 99.9%.
