Briggs buys United Rentals Monterrey location

Briggs International has acquired United Rentals' rental location in Monterrey, Mexico, and will combine it with its Monterrey materials handling operation. Briggs is one of the largest forklift truck rental companies in Mexico and recently acquired Maquinaira Ligera Equinter, a materials handling dealer based in Mexico City.

"Briggs International's growth strategy continues to focus on unprecedented global opportunities, said Briggs president and chief executive officer Dave Bratton; "We've recently been able to capitalize on a couple of good matches to our strategy in Mexico. This acquisition enables us to service more customers, more efficiently."

Director general of Briggs' Mexican business, Fernando Malvido, said; "Briggs Equipment S.A. de C.V. is one of the largest materials handling rental companies in Mexico. We have grown our business one client at a time. We believe we can earn the loyalty of our new clients with our quality service."

Located in Dallas, US, Briggs International manages the expansion of the Briggs Equipment into foreign markets. Briggs Equipment has branches throughout the southern portion of the United States; Briggs Equipment Mexico which operates throughout Mexico; and Briggs Equipment UK Limited servicing the UK. Briggs International is part of the Sammons Enterprises, Inc group.
