In August German rental company BTB lifted into place a new gold plated cross on the cupola of the Berlin Dom (cathedral). BTB used an 500 tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 eight axle telescopic mobile crane.

The new cross had to be lifted to a hook height of 100 m at 65 m radius. The LTM 1500-8.1 was erected with 50 m of telescopic boom, 77 m luffing fly jib, the Y-suspension system and 135 tonnes of counterweight.
