UK rental company Buckhurst Specialist Plant has invested over £6.5 million (€8 million) on fleet expansion with JCB, ordering 25 backhoe loaders and 100 JCB Loadall telescopic handlers.

Buckhurst Specialist Plant chairman John Walsh said the company felt it was the right time to make a sizeable investment, and "capitalise on the definite upturn we have seen in groundworks projects as more and more new build sites appear".

Mr Walsh added, "The new machines expand our nationwide fleet and will also increase our presence in the Scottish Highlands – stocking our recently opened a site in Aberdeen.”

All the machines, apart from several 520-50 Agri Loadalls, are powered by JCB’s EcoMax EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim diesel engine.

The Lancashire-based firm operates a fleet of 2,000 machines from its head office and regional depots in Leeds, West Lothian and Aberdeen.
