A growing waste recycling business has chosen a Case 721F XT wheeled loader to handle a variety of materials includes aggregate, bricks and stones.

Newtown Waste Solutions, based in Scotland, bought the machine from dealer Hodge Plant Sales.

Started in 2009, the company has enjoyed annual growth between 30 and 40% backed up by regular investment at its two sites. It recycles more than 90% of the waste it receives.

The company already runs two Case machines, a SV300 skid steer loader and a C Series excavator. It chose the 721F XT to meet the increased workload at its head office location.

F Series machines have Tier 4 Final engines, achieving emission requirements with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, which eliminates the need for a particulate filter or EGR valve.

Safety is also enhanced by eliminating the need for a Diesel Particulate Filter.

Newtown director Martin Mclindon said: “We liked the look of it compared to machines available from other leading manufacturers.

“To be honest we were a little concerned that it would be too big, as the site is quite tight. However, it was suggested we take the machine as a demonstration model.

“Being able to see how it performed in a live environment was a great advantage. We were extremely impressed with the way it handled and manoeuvred around the site, sight lines from the cab are very good and it’s very efficient – more than we expected.”
