Following the launch of Caterpillar’s AP300 wheeled asphalt paver earlier this year; operators in the field are clearly voicing their approval of the new machine.

Révillon’s Stanley Large said, “I am particularly impressed by the electric screed, locking differential system and the new control system at the end gates.”

Similarly, David Francis of Mastapave, based in Mid Wales, said of the AP300, “It’s my preferred machine already.”

In Italy, Mair Josef and company took delivery of an AP300 field follow unit from CGT. “This paver is one of the best when it comes to performance,” said Schopf Herbert, a paver operator with over 15 years experience.

The Caterpillar AP300 has 1,7 m paving width, although with mechanical extensions this can be extended to a width of 4 m. A hydraulically powered extendable asphalt screed offers a variable frequency vibrating system, and is available with either an LPG or electric heat option. The dual operator’s station is equipped with a sliding control console and adjustable suspension seats.
