China's Runshare launches 24 m articulated boom

Chinese aerial platform manufacturer Hunan Runshare Heavy Industry has introduced what it said is the largest articulated boom ever made in China - the 24 m platform height GTZZ 24Z.

Offering a maximum working height of 25.7 m, 13.6 m outreach and weighing 10.45 t, the platform joins an already wide range of machines made by the company, including telescopic booms, scissors lifts and diesel and electric powered articulated lifts.

Ms Tonya Wen, manager of international marketing at Changsha-based Runshare, said the new machine had been produced at the request of some of its export customers, including customers in Brazil. Ms Wen said that a 45 m articulated model was also under development.

The new boom is powered by a 45 kW Cummins B3.3-C60 engine, and stowed dimensions are 10.7 m (L) by 2.82 m (H) by 2.48 m (width).

Runshare has only been producing aerial platforms since 2007, but it has already established a presence in Brazil and other developing markets. Around 50% of its sales this year will be exported, and Ms Wen told AI that the next targets included the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa.

She said Runshare was not currently focusing on North American or European markets, but may do so in a few years' time.
