Terex Cranes has delivered 10 rubber tyred gantries to the Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal in Xiamen, China.

They were ordered by COSCO Pacific and state-owned Xiamen Haicang Investment Company as part of a twenty unit investment at the terminal. This will serve the increasing TEU (20 foot equivalent containers) volumes in Xiamen area generated by the rapid development of China's economy, said Terex.

"With container volumes through our Phase 1 terminal increasing constantly, we were looking for cranes capable of matching our intensive handling needs in the long term. We feel confident that our new Terex RTG cranes will be a great contribution in helping us meet the challenge," said Zhang Junsheng, General Manager of Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal.

Offering 5-high in first row stacking height and 6 + 1 stacking width, the 8-wheeled RTG models provide a maximum under spreader capacity of 40.5 tonnes and span of 23.47 m. Hoist speeds range from 23 to 52 m per minute and gantry speeds from 30 to 90 m per minute. Trolley speed is 70 m per minute.

Maurizio Altieri, general manager at Terex Port Equipment Heavy Port Equipment Division & Noell Crane Systems added, "We are excited about taking part in the success of our customer's activity as China's economy continues to grow."
