The formation of a new Chinese joint venture company that will produce Mantovanibenne's ranges of attachments for the Chinese and Far East markets was formally announced at last week's bauma China event in Shanghai. The company, Zhejiang Mantovani Machinery Company will be based out of a new 15,000 square metre (160,000 square foot) factory, due to begin production in spring 2011, that will initially produce Mantovanibenne's RP, MCP and CR ranges of pulverisers and crushers. Over time, other products from the Mantovanibenne ranges will be introduced, depending on demand.
While admitting that currently there is only a limited demand for these types of attachments in the region, Paulo Mantovani told D&Ri that he believes that these tool types will overtake hydraulic breakers as the tool of choice in the region, and in the not too distant future. He continued: "We are preparing for the future. To start a new factory capable of producing quality product takes time. Three bauma Chinas ago, there was almost nothing - just look at it today." The new joint venture products will be tailored for the demands of the Chinese and Far East markets, said Paulo, but without adversely affecting quality standards.
There should be no impact on production at Mantovanibenne's Italian factory, which will continue production of the company's products for the established European and North American markets.
