CICA releases safety CD

By Sarah Ann McCay01 July 2012

The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) has launched a safety CD called Dogging in the Workplace, designed for people who work at the hook of a crane.

The CD covers the teamwork involved, the hazards and the ways to go about managing them. It comes with an electronic training manual, which can be printed, and an assessment section.

CICA worked with association member Stephen Holmes of GTK Training to develop the new computer-based training CD. State associations were also asked to contribute to the content.

All CICA training CDs are designed to be used in-house for individual, self-paced operator training and assessment and are funded by CICA's CraneSafe programme.

Further safety products are available through the CICA website, including a training and work experience log book, crane safety manual, additional training CDs and operator safety check log books.
