Clements takes 20 m Multitel
08 August 2013
Clements Plant and Tool, based in the UK, has taken delivery of its first Multitel MJ 201 truck mounted platform.
The 20 m working height Multitel MJ 201 is a conventional front mounted telescopic boom with fly jib. Where the Multitel differs from all other models in this size range is that the fly jib is also telescopic, explained the company, which significantly improves the geometry of the platform giving it greater up and over capabilities. The MJ 201 offers up to 12.6m of working outreach.
In addition to cold extruded aluminium alloy booms the MJ 201 has an aluminium alloy sub-frame to reduce the overall weight. The sub-frame has two permanently in line outriggers at the rear and H-frame outriggers at the front. The latter can be deployed in the line of the vehicle, extended on one side only or extended on both sides.
Jim Longstaff, managing director of Clements Plant and Tool, said, “We spent a long time looking at all the options available and we believe the selection of platforms we have chosen will facilitate the development of our truck mounted business." The Multitel MJ 201 we believe will become the customer’s platform of choice in the 3.5 tonne GVM category.”
The platform represents the first delivery of a number of models ordered by Clements from Multitel and other platform manufacturers over the past few months, added the company.
