Offshore rental specialist Coates Offshore has appointed Connon Craig as regional business development manager for its UK and Russian operations. Mr Craig has a 20 year career in well services in the oil and gas sector.

Coates, based in Aberdeen UK and a subsidiary of Australian rental company Coates Hire, said the appointment was the latest in a number that will be required as the business seeks to treble its revenues in three years.

Scott Mackenzie, who was previously business development manager for the UK, now takes on the same role for Middle East and Africa.

Earlier this year Coates Offshore announced plans to treble revenues to £50 million over the next three years through global expansion. Over the past 18 months it has expanded into Singapore, Norway, Australia, Indonesia, Angola and Brazil.

Kieran White, executive director at Coates Offshore, said, "It's an exciting time for Coates Offshore, we have been successfully operating in the UKCS (UK Continental Shelf) for the last 10 years but now is the time for real growth."

Coates Offshore, which employs more than 60 people, supplies air compressors, steam generators, sand filters and heat exchangers to major oil and gas operators and service companies.
