One of the latest products to be launched by RMD Kwikform promises to offer more efficient casting of columns. The Maxima column range is a modular system which can be used to cast columns in varying widths from 200 to 750 mm and up to 3,3 m in height with no joints.

According to RMD Kwikform, the new column range is capable of withstanding concrete pressures of up to 166 kN/m2, so concrete can be poured at a rate that suits the construction programme. The range also feature stripping corners, which are becoming common on formwork used for core construction, to reduce striking time and improve the finish.

The system was developed in response to customer demand, according to RMD Kwikform engineering director Ian Fryer. “Customer feedback showed that there was a real need for a column forming system that was flexible and capable of withstanding high concrete pressures than other systems currently on the market, he said. “The concept for the design comes from our Maxima panel system.
