With the second Access, Lift & Handlers Conference and Awards (ALH C&A) set to take place Oct. 11 at the Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel in Miami, a handful of additions have been set in place, rounding out the day-long event.

Craig Paylor, COO of Ahern Rentals, and former president of JLG Industries, has been added to the lineup of speakers. Paylor will discuss the true impact of Tier 4 standards on rental businesses.

Kip Eideberg, vice president of public affairs for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), will present arguments for why investment in infrastructure is so important, as well as AEM's grassroots advocacy plans.

Other speakres include United Rentals’ Senior Vice President - Business Services and Chief Information Officer, Dale Asplund, who will address “big data” in rental.

From Herc Rentals, Larry Silber, president and chief executive officer, will give the morning keynote address, while Charles Miller, vice president of operations with the company, will join the afternoon’s round-table on fleet management. Also on the round-table will Mike Crouch, president and COO of Acme Lift, and Jonathan Dawley, global vice president - aftermarket, JLG Industries.

Also speaking at the day-long conference will be SmartEquip’s Executive Vice Chairman, company founder and President, International Group, Alex Schuessler, Ph. D. Schuessler will speak about how to take the cost out of fleet ownership.

Joining him that morning will be Gary McArdle, executive vice president of Rouse Services. Mr. McArdle will address attendees about rental metrics and what they say about rental trends.

Also speaking in the morning will be Skyjack’s President, Brad Boehler.

During the afternoon, attendees will hear from two industry experts who will discuss the upcoming ANSI Standards changes and what they mean for both rental and manufacturers.

Tony Groat, North American manager of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), will discuss “Lessons from Europe” regarding rental and ISO standards.

Following his presentation, Chad Hislop, director of engineering for Genie, will talk to the audience from a manufacturer’s point of view how the upcoming ANSI Standards changes will affect business – from pricing, manufacturing and what’s to come.
