Crowland buys a new Liebherr crane

11 November 2019

Peterborough, UK-based crane hire, sales and servicing company Crowland Cranes has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 mobile crane.

The crane was ordered fully specified and included a double fly jib, as well as Liebherr’s VarioBase system for enhanced safety particularly in constricted working conditions. It also comes with Liebherr’s VarioBallast system – designed to enable crane operators to change between different ballast radii quickly and easily.

The four-axle, 90-tonne capacity crane has a 60 metre telescopic main boom. It can travel with axle loads of 10, 12 and 16 tonnes. In the UK it can travel with its 22.5 tonne counterweight and fly jib. The crane also comes with ECOdrive and ECOmode – designed to reduce fuel consumption and noise emissions.

The crane’s entire counterweight can be removed to reduce axle loads to 10 tonnes per axle with zero tonne counterweight duties being possible.

Speaking about the purchase Crowland Cranes’ managing director Peter Issitt said, “The new LTM1090-4.2 has been well received by our customers and it’s already proving to be a very versatile machine and sits well within the current fleet of our other four axle cranes. It is already being specifically requested by our clients for tasks where limited space is available.”
