Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) has signed a deal to upgrade Qatar’s heavily-used E-Ring expressway.

The South Korean construction company was awarded the US$ 730 million contract by Ashgal, Qatar’s public works authority.

The new deal follows Daewoo E&C’s well received work on an even larger expressway project in the country.

The current contract calls for Daewoo E&C to extend the expressway connecting the southern part of Qatar’s capital, Doha, by 4.5 km, as well as adding roads with up to 14 lanes and three multi-level intersections.
