Danese Autogru’s Demag AC 220-5 all terrain crane

Italian crane rental specialist Danese Autogru SRL has added to its fleet of 18 cranes with the purchase of a 220 tonne capacity Demag AC 220-5 all terrain crane.

The Demag AC 220-5 has a 78 metre main boom and a maximum system length of 99 m. It also has the Demag IC-1 Plus control system which calculates real-time lifting capacities. The crane’s manufacturer, Terex Cranes, said this allows it to perform jobs usually reserved for larger machines. Terex added that the Demag’s single engine concept means idle times and total engine hours are reduced, contributing to the reduction of fuel costs and helping to preserve the crane’s residual value.

“We currently own a few smaller Terex and Demag all terrain cranes, and we’ve been pleased with those units’ performance,” said Giancarlo Danese, owner of Danese Autogru. “This larger Demag 5-axle crane is easy to transport from job to job and rigs quickly; those are qualities that will help our team be efficient for our customers. Plus, we’re very pleased with the level of service we receive from our Terex Cranes distributor Tecno-Gru. They get us what we need to stay productive.”
