Custom Equipment has upgraded its Hy-Brid HB-830 low level scissor lift with a longer platform to give maintenance crews and contractors more space for tools and supplies.

The platform is 25.5 inches wide and 55.75 inches long – nearly nine inches longer than the original model. It can accommodate two people and features a 30 inch slide-out extension. The extension has a capacity of 250 pounds and is supported by the lift’s midrail, which eliminates jamming associated with traditional rollers.

The lift has a capacity of 500 pounds, limiting the number of trips up and down to reload the lift. The lightweight unit also features a zero turn radius for easy maneuverability in confined spaces. It allows users to perform work like drywall, electrical and HVAC at heights up to 14 feet.

Other features include dual front wheels that help distribute the machine’s weight and provide lower wheel loads. Due its lightweight, the unit is designed to work on delicate flooring, including tile, laminate, raised floors and mezzanines, with much lower potential for damage. Users can also get onto poured concrete several days sooner with the HB-830 than with heavier competitor models, said the company.
