He added a wide range of Deutz engines are approved for use of 100% bio-diesel (B100) according to the European bio-diesel standard DIN EN 14214, as well as blends up to 20% (B20) of US bio-diesel according to standard ASTM D6751.

"The core advantage of using bio-diesel is the fact that it is renewable energy and greenhouse gases emissions are reduced," Mr Wild said.

He added, technically, the use of bio-diesel is a challenge due to its different chemical characteristics. The company's latest development is rapeseed oil according to standard DIN V 51605, which is approved for use in Deutz Natural Fuel Engine.
