Durante Rentals closes all facilities for remainder of week

17 March 2020

Durante Rentals, the NY-based equipment rental company with 10 branches, has closed its facilities for the remainder of the week as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19. The company will not be accepting any new orders or delivering equipment. Phone lines will remain open during the week and the company’s remote workforce will support first responders and other critical support services.

The company asked if clients have equipment on rent that is no longer needed, please call off the equipment by emailing a Durante rental coordinator. “We ask that you please include a photo of the hour meter as to avoid incurring additional rental charges,” the company said.

“As a company, our number one priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers,” said Anthony Durante, CEO. “As a result, we have decided to err on the side of caution and are proactively closing all rental facilities for the remainder of this week. We’re optimistic that other local businesses will follow our lead in hopes of limiting exposure to this dangerous virus.”

“We understand that some of you are still working and in need of our services. Durante has always been there for our customers during tough times and our promise is to be there for you as soon as this pandemic is under control. We are closely monitoring the news and quickly adopting suggestions being made by the CDC and local authorities.”

Durante has instituted extreme sanitizing protocols at all branches, adopted a “no handshake” policy, instructed employees with pre-existing medical conditions to stay home and asked for staff that could work from home to do so.

“Again, while some of these measures may seem extreme at this time, they are being instituted with the health of our employees, customers and communities in mind,” Durante said.

Durante will post an update by this weekend concerning business hours for the following week.

“Thank you in advance for your cooperation during these uncertain times. We are sure things will be back to normal sooner than later,” Durante said. “When they do, please allow us to continue to serve all your equipment needs.”
