EDA backs World Demolition Summit

18 June 2010

Demolition & Recycling International is delighted to announce that the European Demolition Association (EDA) has agreed to support this year's World Demolition Summit - incorporating the World Demolition Awards - in Amsterdam later this year.

Both the conference and the gala awards dinner take place on November 5 at the Hotel Okura.

New EDA president Giuseppe Panseri, head of Italian demolition contractor Despe, has agreed to join the awards judging panel, as has EDA vice president Pilar de la Cruz Romero, of Voladuras Demoliciones y Desguaces from Spain.

Despe has also agreed to give one of the keynote project case studies at the conference.

"I am delighted at the EDA's decision, and look forward to a long and mutually supportive relationship," said D&Ri editor, Lindsay Gale.

"The EDA has said that it will be encouraging its members to participate in the conference and enter the awards, and that is fantastic news."

The 2010 World Demolition Summit intends to build on the success of last year's highly-praised event.

Lindsay Gale added: "So far the signs are good. We have an excellent list of top class speakers and we are already receiving a steady stream of entries for the awards, even though the closing date is still a month away".
