Pilar de la Cruz accepts the president’s chain of office from outgoing EDA president Giuseppe Panseri

The 2013 European Demolition Association convention in Milan on 21-22 June saw changes to the top of that organisation, with Spain’s Pilar de la Cruz succeeding Italian Giuseppe Panseri as president and NFDC president William Sinclair in turn stepping up to the position of vice president.

The formal hand-over took place on the evening of the 21st following a Gala Dinner in the sumptuous surroundings of the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, formerly a 16th Century monastery, with the dinner itself held in the Cenacolo, which was the monastery’s refectory. It is entirely decorated with stucco and frescoes by Pietro Gilardi, evoking the baroque splendour of the eighteenth century and providing a impressive backdrop to the handover.

Pilar will serve a three year term of office and in turn will hand over the office to William Sinclair at the 2016 annual convention.
