The Panhellenic Association of Engineers Contractors of Public Works (PEDMEDE), which was established in 1935, represents the construction sector in Greece and covers a range of companies dealing with public works.

Its members comprise both individuals in the sector and companies as classified by the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The association is based in Athens and operates 15 regional departments. It is also the sole Greek contractors association representing the country in a European level and is a statutory member of FIEC (European Construction Industry Federation) and EIC (European International Contractors), holding seats on steering committees in both entities.

In addition, it aims to ensure and promote its members’ interests and welfare in close cooperation with public authorities, government representatives and key stakeholders representing the construction sector, shaping the national legislative framework, forming polices and initiatives and having a leading role in social dialogue.

Among its aims is the creation of a National Producer Responsibility Scheme for collection and treatment of construction and demolition wastes.
