Briggs Equipment, based in Northern Ireland, has taken delivery of its first Sinoboom equipment at the company’s Lisburn depot.

The order is made up of Sinoboom’s AB14EJ and AB18EJ articulating booms, providing working heights of 16m and 20.2m. All models are electric, with the Discover AGM sealed maintenance free batteries fitted in the majority of the range, and AC electric drive, which makes for faster driving speeds and longer battery duty cycles.

The rough terrain non-marking tyres give versatility by enabling them to work both outdoors in uneven conditions and indoors without marking the floors. Both units offer 230kg, two-person capacity, and weigh 7,100kg and 8,300kg, respectively.

Wayne Sloan, Wayne Sloan, Short Term Hire Manager at Briggs Equipment, commented, “As part of Briggs’ commitment to our zero-emission strategy we have invested heavily in electric products for our short term hire fleet. The Sinoboom range is attractive as the AGM maintenance free batteries provide long term cost saving benefits, and the overall build quality andcomponent specifications of these particular models impressed us.”

The delivery to Briggs was organised by Sinoboom’s European subsidiary, Sinoboom BV, which is based near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Briggs Equipment UK is part of Briggs International, the world’s largest global distributor of Hyster and Yale products. Its parent company Sammons Enterprises is one of the world’s largest privately owned companies. It operates wholly owned businesses and investor partnerships in industries such as insurance, property and equipment distribution.

Julie Houston Smyth, UK/Ireland Regional Manager for Sinoboom, added, “We are delighted that Wayne has selected Sinoboom articulating booms for his hire fleet. Equipment operators expect alternatives to traditional diesel/petrol fuel rough terrain machines. This expectation is in turn driving rental companies to adapt to meet the challenge.”
