The project, which stands for Lease vs Buy vs Rent, expands on the total cost of ownership initiative it launched in 2016 with its free-to-use calculator.

The LBR project looks in-depth at the lease model, both financing and operating, and introduces the risk factors associated to the operation and management of each constriction equipment type.

The calculator, launched last year, is the first of its kind and was created in collaboration with the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.

It provides a financial calculation designed to help equipment stakeholders assess the actual cost of equipment by working out the total economic value of the investment.

It provides a newfound level of cost analysis never seen before, on a simplified and user-friendly scale. As an option, the calculator offers a completely unbiased view of buy versus rental analysis, to help equipment stakeholders draw comparisons and make informed decisions.

The TCO calculator is available in a website, http://equipmentcalculator.org/ and on Android and Apple App version, for user-friendly remote access.

For more information on the TCO calculator and on the new LBR project, please do not hesitate to contact the ERA secretariat, at era@erarental.org
