The European Rental Association (ERA) will review the status of its 2017 ERA Market Report at its next statistics committee meeting on 31 August in Paris, France.

The ERA will also launch a new project during the meeting, related to rental penetration. Indeed, the ERA has always relied on construction industry output and country population to benchmark rental penetration.

The American Rental Association (ARA) successfully launched a Rental Penetration Index in 2013, based on equipment population, thanks to the American Census Bureau. The ERA has now initiated a research project to define rental penetration based on equipment population with data sources available in Europe.

The next meeting will allow the opportunity for the committee to review the status of this project and, eventually, decide to go ahead.

The statistics committee is open to every member of ERA. If you are interesting in joining, or if you wish to receive more information on the works of the committee, please do not hesitate to contact the ERA secretariat, at era@erarental.org
